I have lived in their midst in San Carlos and Palo Alto most of my adult life and always wondered why we don't see more Eichler style homes being built today. The architecture reminds me [a bit] of Frank Loyd Wright without all the radial design touches....particularly Mr.Wright's home... http://www.Wright-house.com/fallingwater I know newer and more environmentally progressive homes today offer dual heating systems using our traditional and expensive "forced air" systems along with energy efficient "radiant" heat. Mr. Eichler in my view gave birth to "radiant" heat.....I realize this is probably not true...but Mr. Eichler can certainly take credit for making it more popular and understood around the bay. Sam,
